CTI in Inc5000 for the Second Year

May 24, 2012

We did it again!

For the second time in a row, CTI joins the ranks of other US– Based companies in the prestigious Top5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies, hosted by Inc5000 business magazine.

ImageFrom last year’s rank of 1464, CTI slid to 1718 this year, however, this does not mean a decrease in the growth of the company. On the contrary, we experienced 156% growth in the past 3 years and increased to 500 employees from last year’s 350.

CTI ranks 57 in the telecommunications industry out of the thousands who attempted to join the list.  This is an improvement versus last year’s 122 in the industry (though last year’s classification was more generic: CTI was tagged  under Business Products and  Services.)

This year is the second time CTI joined the  said recognition body and the company strives to continue being present not just in the list, but make their presence stronger in the field.

Honduras team moves to a  different location in San Pedro Sula to continue to expand to be completed by first half of the year.

This award serves as an inspiration to continue striving not just to increase the population but meet the demands  of the clients and its employees.

A Wedding in Ifugao

April 30, 2012

ctiwedLast March 2012, Ms Hani Buligon, QA Manager, walked down the aisle to tie her vows with Mr Roger Buligon.  The wedding was held in Kiangan Shrine in Kiangan, Ifugao, an 8– hour drive from Manila.  The event was attended by the couple’s friends and relatives, and  some CTI employees.

The event was solemn as nature served as witnesses to the matrimonial celebrations held in a shrine that is overlooked by mountains and a surrounded by a garden of flowers.  The reception was held in the residence of Ms Hani where a banquet of food served not just the guest but the entire barangay, a usual Filipino tradition.

When guests were full, the celebration was capped off by traditional Ifugao  practices like ethnic dances and blessings from the honored folks of the community.

The next day, the CTI team took advantage of the travel and visited the famous Rice Terraces of Ifugao.  The team started the journey from Banaue early morning.  Upon reaching the said place, everyone was in awe seeing the magnificence of the terraces.

In Giving, We Receive– Team Kanlungan in 2011

March 28, 2012

“In giving, we receive.” ~ This is not just a line made famous in CTI by the Outreach Committee, but also the core value that holds the group and the company together in helping the less fortunate outside the confines of our office spaces.

The Outreach Committee was established in August 3, 2011. The facilitator, Ms. Lui Florentin, gathered all employees who were interested in joining.  And from the group, the officers were elected 7 days later and decided to adopt the name “Team Kanlungan” (Kanlungan is a Filipino word for a place/someone/something  that you can rest or rely on.)

Meetings were held every Wednesday for brainstorming and planning on what projects to have for the whole year.  Several suggestions were carefully selected, giving priority to the ones most in need. Thus, this signaled the busy start that launched the success of awareness and charity within the office premises of CTI and outside.

The following are the events of the committee on its first year:

Share a Care in Golden Acres

Last October 8, 2011, CTI employees attended the first project of Team Kanlungan at THE GOLDEN ACRES in Bago Bantay, Quezon City.  It is the centre of the Department of Social Welfare and Development for abandoned and neglected elderly Filipinos.  Although it was a rainy day, the volunteers didn’t mind the weather and arrived in high spirits, excited to share this memorable day with the elder folks. Food, drinks, and donations were brought and given to everyone. Those who were not able to leave their rooms were visited by the volunteers and given their share.

The whole community was engaged with different kinds of activities and games like “Hep-Hep Hooray” and “Bring Me” etc.  Everyone actively participated.  Before the Team left and ended the event, they thanked everyone for the successful project, with the hopes of visiting again the next year.

House of Refuge

House of Refuge Foundation, Inc. caters as a halfway house at Project 8 Quezon City, providing basic needs for abandoned and neglected street children. They were named Bahay Kanlungan in 1990 and became a licensed child-caring institution the following year, adopting the current name.

With this, CTI Team Kanlungan decided to spend their time with the children and hosted a Christmas Party at Jollibee, Pag-asa last December 10. There were games for the kids and some of the CTI Team Kanlungan Officers also joined. There were dance numbers and a heart-warming song number from the children. The Team also gave their respective gift wishes with the help of several CTI employee-sponsors.

Christmas Gift Giving with Feedtheirfuture.com

The last scheduled project of CTI Team Kanlungan for the year was held on December 18, 2011, in Tanay, Rizal. Together with Feedtheirfuture.Org, a non-government organization, headed by Mr. Daxx Bondoc, a Christmas gift giving event benefited the students of Sampaloc and Wawa Elementary school. It was a successful event with more than 200 participants. It was a whole bunch of fun with free meals and giveaways for everyone.

Oplan Sendong through Sagip-Kapamilya

The day storm “Sendong” hit and devastated a number of provinces and cities, leaving countless homeless and missing, CTI Team Kanlungan responded right away by organizing a relief operation. Although it was a short notice, everyone in the company pitched in. And on December 23, several bottles of water, canned goods, noodles, used clothes and sacks of rice were brought to Sagip Kapamilya, ABS-CBN Foundation.

Books for a Cause

“Books for a Cause” is an advocacy, founded by Ramil Sumangil, which aims to provide knowledge through books to every Filipino. In line with this objective, they supported the launching of Ricky Lee’s latest novel entitled “Amapola, sa 65 na Kabanata” that took place last November 27, 2011 at SM City North EDSA. This was hosted by Ai-Ai Delas Alas and Eugene Domingo, and sponsored by ABS-CBN, National Bookstore, Sony Music, Anvil, Think Creative Digicon Wizard Group and Triprint Corp. CTI Team Kanlungan supported this event by encouraging employees to purchase Ricky Lee’s signed novel. Part of the proceeds will go to the projects of Books for a Cause.

Last December 03, the Team supported another Books for a Cause project, the construction of their library in Baloy, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija. After the 18-hour drive from Manila to Baloy, the Team was welcomed by Hon. Amado R. Corpus (Municipal Mayor), Hon. Cinderella E. Ramos (Municipal Vice Mayor), Mr. Ruben Laweg (Barangay Chairman) and their councilors.  The Team brought along the books donated by CTI employees and participated in the painting of the newly installed bookshelves.

Join us as we embark another year of sharing. And as the popular quote from Tyson Dory says,   ”There is no greater gift than the gift of giving. It is in giving of ourselves to those less fortunate than us that we truly receive.”
